The inciting event actually works. A student's grandfather dies and leaves him a horn with occult power, and that object announces itself loudly enough that the Inquisition starts hunting the boy who now owns it. Staying alive is the plot, protecting the family is the pressure, and DrMolly keeps those two things pulling against each other instead of letting the supernatural material float free of anyone's stakes.
The family is written with unusual care for this kind of game. The father is a genuine support rather than an obstacle, the sisters have separate personalities instead of one shared archetype, and the protagonist is reserved with the people closest to him rather than scheming. Outside the house a sarcastic doctor supplies the black humor and Amelia supplies the trouble. The 17 MB build starts quickly on a phone.
Fair warnings
The family material is written as temptation and the game keeps circling back to it, so know that is part of the package. Version 0.5 also stops with the Inquisition thread wide open, which is the part you will actually want resolved. The occult rules stay vague too, so it is never clear what the horn can and cannot do.
