You play Lisa, which matters, because a woman making her own decisions is still rare in this catalog. She is eighteen, good at anatomy, headed for medicine, and then she decides she needs to get away and moves to the city. Trouble starts before she even arrives. The game hands you her choices rather than someone else's designs on her, including whether she stays loyal to the man she left behind or settles accounts with him.

Ze-gam-eZ gives those decisions weight. Lisa's future is genuinely at stake, so a choice can cost her the career she built her whole adolescence around, and the game does not pretend otherwise.
