Homelander

The turn works. You grow up an orphan, you pull a young woman out of trouble, and finding out who she actually is pulls your own past into the open. From there the game spreads across a continent with several civilizations, each written with enough specificity that travel feels like it means something rather than reskinning the same village.

The setting choice is the interesting part. Society here is matriarchal, so you spend the game accommodating what the women around you want rather than acquiring them, which inverts the default power arrangement in this genre. Magic gives you a tool for digging into your own history. Jabbonk has reached chapter 4 part 2, so there is a decent run of story behind the 22 MB build.

Family content is central once the new family arrives, incest included, and the matriarchal framing is used to push it rather than to avoid it. If that is not for you, skip it. The medieval world also stays decorative, with civilizations described more than they are shown, and the magic has no limits worth speaking of so it resolves problems too easily.
