Santa Rita belongs to the mafia and bought politicians, Luna's father dies leaving debts and enemies behind, and she runs with help from Cavalcanti, an old friend of his whose motives never feel entirely settled. Three years on she has a fake name and a quiet life, right up until the past finds the address.
What makes it work for this site is that Luna is the protagonist rather than the prize. She can play rebellious or docile depending on your choices, and the corruption arc follows from that decision instead of happening to her regardless. Frozen Synapse keeps the noir tone consistent, so the adult scenes carry the same tension as the rest of the story.
Before you start
Version 0.33 means the story is still mid-flight, and the current build stops well before the mafia plot resolves. Cavalcanti's ambiguity is also stretched thin at times, hinting at a reveal the released chapters have not delivered yet.
