Midlife Crisis

Midlife Crisis has an unusually grown up premise for this genre. The protagonist has a successful life, adult children who have moved out and a quiet marriage, and none of it stops him sinking into depression. His wife suggests renting the spare rooms to female students, partly for company and partly because she can see him drifting. That single decision is the whole engine.

Nefastus Games plays the discomfort honestly. The regret and the sense of unlived life are written with real weight before anything happens, which makes the temptation land harder than the usual student houseshare setup would. The wife is a character rather than an obstacle too, and that changes how each choice feels.

Not for everyone

The pacing is slow by design. Several in-game weeks pass building routine and mood before anything escalates, and players who skip dialogue will find the payoffs unearned.
